2 Esdras


One of the books of the Bible considered apocryphal by Jerome-supporting Protestants though accepted by Orthodox Christians.

Consists mostly of a Jewish apocalypse in which Ezra, in a series of visions, bewails the predicament of exiled Israel and looks for a messianic figure to restore the nation to its former glory.
